Curriculum
K-8 instructional materials are recommended by Hippy Kids Homeschool for: English Language Arts, math, science and social studies. Materials chosen are focused on use in the homeschool setting. Curriculum costs are reduced with group discounts and textbook buy-back program.
Training
Parent trainings focus on how to create complete programs at home in phonics, reading, writing, math, science and social studies for grades K-8.

Hippy Kids Homeschool is this crazy idea I’ve been kicking around for several years, now. After seeing so many homeschool parents struggle so much, all I could do was just shake my head. Handed an armful of textbooks and told ‘Good Luck,” by charter schools, or worse yet, trying to go solo without any pedagogy at all, is just a disaster with tears, waiting to happen! If only I could help get them organized. If only I could train them up a little, they’d have a fighting chance to give their kids a better education. A GREAT education! That’s where the idea for Hippy Kids Home School began. And, after batting it around a little with parents, it’s evolved. It’s still evolving! It’s going to be fun to see where this thing goes!
Membership
It takes a lot of work to run a school, but “Many hands make light work!” Membership in the Hippy Kids Home School is a simple commitment to join other home school parents in finding enrichment, activities, and fieldtrips for all of the kids in the group. Charter school parents are encouraged to join, as well as, solo private school parents.
Most of the enrichment classes and fieldtrips are suggested by parents. They pass on the information to me, and I will make the arrangements and put the event on the calendar. Many of the individual activities and fieldtrips require additional vendor fees. We will often get group discounts when purchasing together. Some activities are even created especially for us! Parents will pay these fees when registering for the event.
I will lead in the academic side of the house. I will teach the parent training and help with curriculum recommendations for the four main content areas; English Language Arts, math, science and social studies. This is the resource many parents are looking for when they first begin their homeschool journey. How do I begin? Families are not obligated to use the recommended curriculum, but they are what parent trainings and group discounts will be based on. This resource is included in the basic membership.
Membership dues are $100/family per year. This fee helps keep the lights on, pays the webpage bill, maintains the textbook buy-back system and keeps your trainer afloat.
We also need you to help us grow by spreading the word about Hippy Kids Home School to everyone you know! They may know someone who is looking for us! Encourage them to join or bring them to an activity!
